On Thursday, French President Emmanuel Macron will begin his two-day visit to India. He will visit the famous Hawa Mahal and the Amber fort, which is located on a hill in Jaipur. The 75th Republic Day celebrations in Delhi will have Macron as the chief guest.
The French President’s flight is expected to arrive at Jaipur Airport at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Ministry of External Affairs states that he will leave for Delhi at about 8:50 p.m.
During his six-hour visit to Jaipur, Macron will take part in a roadshow with Prime Minister Narendra Modi before holding bilateral talks at the Taj Rambagh Palace. The roadshow starts at 6 p.m. in the Jantar Mantar area. After that, the two leaders will engage in a bilateral dialogue. Talks will take place on a variety of topics, including cooperation in a range of areas, defence, trade, clean energy, youth exchanges and visa relief for Indian students.
On Thursday at around 7:10 p.m., the French President will also meet with President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhawan.
French contingents include a 33-member band and a 95-member marching contingent that will participate in the Republic Day parade. The French marching contingent will include six Indians. The French air force will also display two Rafale fighter planes and an Airbus A330 multi-role tanker transport aircraft during the march past.
