The creators of Ram Charan’s most recent movie, Game Changer, have accused some people of releasing a pirated copy of the movie online. Before leaking the movie, the accused pirates allegedly attempted to extort the producers, according to the lawsuit.
Ram Charan and Kiara Advani play the main parts in Shankar’s film Game Changer. Prior to the Sankranthi festival, on January 10, the director’s debut Telugu film was released. On the day of its release, the movie became an unfortunate victim of piracy, according to a statement from the film’s team.
According to the lawsuit, a group of about 45 people leaked a pirated version of the movie online. The makers of the movie, under the direction of Dil Raju, have complained to the cybercrime division and provided proof against the 45 accused pirates.
According to the complaint, the producers and a few team members were threatened by the same alleged pirates via social media and messaging apps like WhatsApp prior to the release of the movie. The pirates demanded money from the producers and threatened to release the pirated version if their demands were not met. Two days prior to the film’s release, plot aspects were leaked online when the producers refused to comply with the demands.
Ultimately, an HD pirated print was released on a number of websites, including Telegram, on the day of the movie’s premiere. To determine whether this organisation committed these offences, an inquiry is being conducted.
Ram Charan, Kiara Advani, and SJ Suryah feature in Shankar’s film Game Changer. Despite receiving mixed to excellent reviews, the political thriller has had a successful start at the movie office. During its first weekend of release, the movie brought in a total of ₹88.50 crore in the domestic market.
The Hindi-dubbed version has also performed well, earning ₹22.90 crore in the first three days, however the Telugu version has generated the majority of the revenue. Additionally, the movie has been released in Malayalam, Tamil, and Kannada.
