Germany confirms appointment of Hansi Flick as the head coach ahead of Euro 2020

Germany confirmed the signing of Hansi Flick ahead of Euro 2020 this summer. The 56-year-old German has signed a contract until 2024 and will be taking over the reign from outgoing coach Joachim Low.

Hanis helped Bayern to win 6 trophies last season when he won the UEFA Champions League, Bundesliga, UEFA Super Cup DFB pokal and FIFA Club World Cup. He left the German champs with another Bundesliga trophy this season. He will be leading the country in this summers Euro and the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. He said in a statement that, ” I am very happy to be able to work as national coach from autumn onwards. I am also looking forward to contributing my ideas and ideas beyond the national team to the academy and the other national teams. The important thing now is not what will happen in September, I will speak with you in detail in August but the upcoming European Championship for which I wish the team the greatest possible success.

He is the second man to win all six available trophies in a year after Pep Guardiola when he won everything in 2009 with FC Barcelona. Flick was an assistant to Low from 2006 to 2014 and won the World Cup with Germany in 2014, now he will be leading the side in the upcoming tournaments.
