The Press Secretary of the White House, Jen Psaki mentioned on Sunday and released a statement on Sunday about the arrival of Afghanistan’s President Ashraf Ghani and the Chairman of its High Council for National Reconciliation, Abdullah Abdullah to meet with the U.S. President Joe Biden, at the White House on Friday.

The visit is timed in such a manner that it is occurring after the U.S. made the decision and began withdrawing its troops from Afghanistan. This process started on the 1st of May and is presumed to be completed on the 20th anniversary of the World Trade Centre terror attacks that occurred in New York City, September 11th.

The Press Secretary, Ms. Psaki made a statement on Sunday which mentioned that The United States of America is unwavering in its commitment to support the people of Afghanistan inclusive of girls, women, and minorities in every way possible by providing support in the form of diplomatic, economic, and humanitarian assistance.

The Taliban after knowing of the troop situation in Afghanistan have said on Sunday that they are dedicated to have peace talks and wanted a “genuine Islamic system” in the country. In addition to that, they also mentioned that they would like to accommodate the rights of all which includes women, in a way that the system agreed upon. As of yet, the peace talks in Qatar among the Afghan government and the Taliban have remained stagnant and not moved forward.

Amidst all of this, brutality, destruction, and violence have proceeded to cause turmoil in the country. As per reports, the Taliban have claimed to have apprehended and taken control over 40 districts and counting.
