Grammy winner Karol G’s private jet makes emergency landing in Los Angeles as cockpit fills with smoke: Report

Scary moments occurred hours ago at a Los Angeles airport when Grammy winner Karol G’s private plane made an emergency landing after its cockpit was reportedly filled with smoke. The 33-year-old Colombian reggaeton singer was accompanied by her team on the flight.

The Gulfstream aircraft made a safe landing at Los Angeles’ Van Nuys Airport late on Thursday, according to ABC7. The private plane, which had taken off from Hollywood Burbank Airport with 16 passengers, had to make a stopover Cajun Pass due to an in-flight emergency.

The aircraft successfully made an emergency landing at Van Nuys Airport at around 9:00 p.m. local time.

After making a safe landing at the Los Angeles airport, the distressed passengers can be seen comforting one another in the video. The cause of the problem is yet unknown.

For her 2023 album Mañana Será Bonito, the Colombian singer earned her first Grammy award (2024) for Best Música Urbana Album. It was her fourth studio album. In February, Billboard magazine named her the 2024 Woman of the Year, and she will be honoured at the forthcoming Billboard Women in Music Awards. The award presentation will take place on Wednesday, March 6, at the YouTube Theatre at Hollywood Park in Los Angeles. She is also expected to deliver a special performance onstage.
