Gundappa Viswanath says New Zealand are a good side, India can’t take them lightly

The Indian team is aiming to achieve their third big Test trophy. After a historic Test series win against Australia and registering a 3-1 win against England at home the Indian team is one step away from winning the inaugural World Test Championship. India will face New Zealand in the WTC final at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton on June 18.

India had reached Southampton on June 3 after going through a three-day quarantine period and ten days in India. The Indian batting legend Gundappa Viswanath praised India’s current form but warned them against the blackcaps. He said in an interview with TOI that both the teams will be playing at a neutral venue and it will be a good contest. The kiwis are a good side, India cannot take them lightly as the atmosphere will be different.

He further says that India does have an edge over the Blackcaps and it will be an exciting clash. That epic win against Australia and England must have boosted team India for the WTC final. Viswanath signed off by saying that it will be Indian bowlers vs the Kiwis batsman in the WTC final. India has a strong bowling unit with Shami, Bumrah, Siraj and Ishant and he is sure that Siraj will do a great job for Virat in the WTC final.
