On Thursday, UK Court has ruled that the bad boy billionaire Diamond Merchant – Nirav Modi could be extradited to India and face charges of money laundering & fraud. UK Court said that there are enough evidence that connect Mr. Modi with PNB Bank and his links with bank officials have been probed by CBI & how he and his brother planned to fraud the public sector bank.
UK judge said there was no evidence which suggest that if extradited he will not receive justice in India. While ruling in favour of the extradition the court said that the government of India has provided us with the comprehensive assurance regarding keeping Mr. Nirav Modi will be kept in Barrack number 12 in Arthur Road prison an there is sufficient security, adequate food and Barrack 12 has more space than where he is currently lodged in.
Nirav Modi has been accused for defrauding PNB bank by obtaining letters of undertaking (LoU) aka loan agreements and fraud-ed Rs. 13000 crore. Magistrate and High Court level in the UK both have denied bail to him and he has also been accused for disappearance of evidence and intimidating witnesses.
