Hungary beats France at Euro 2020, Laszlo Kleinheisler rewarded as the ‘Star of the Match’

Hungary remains unbeaten against France at the UEFA Euro finals (W3 D2) tournament as they succeed in holding the world champions at the Puskas Arena in Budapest that ended up 1-1 draw.

Hungary started good but that wasn’t enough to win Marco Rossi’s team vs Didier Deschamps France. Attila Fiola gave his side an early lead in the first half’s added minutes but Antoine Griezmann equalised at the second half. The outcome of the match took France on top of the group with four points until Portugal who had won their first game, play Germany next, and Hungary at third with one point.

Hungarian Attila Fiola with his first International opener goal in added time, seconds before the half time at minute 45+2′ was the first time when France conceded in six matches in all competitions that ended up their run of 527 minutes on the clean sheet. Meanwhile their Captain Hungary, Adam Szalai was forced off with an injury in the first half while Paul Pogba couldn’t impress much and lacked creativity.

On the other side for the world champions, Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema was denied by opponent goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi just after PSG’s Kylian Mbappe’s off the target shot. The opposition was leading until Griezmann, in the second half at minute 66′ smashed into the net with an equaliser for his side. Barcelona’s Griezmann has now scored 38 goals for France in 93 games. 

Hungarian midfielder Laszlo Kleinheisler was rewarded as Star of the Match following for his fine display against the world champions.
