Indian left-arm bowler Kuldeep Yadav expressed his dismay for not being part of the Indian Test squad for the upcoming World Test Championship final game against New Zealand and also for the 5 match Test series against England which is scheduled in August.
Currently, the 24-member squad including the reserve players have toured the English countryside for the upcoming encounters. But, Kuldeep who was part of most of the matches that were part of the WTC cycle was not included in the marque event.
Speaking to India TV, Kuldeep stated that he would have loved to be a part of the team and contribute to the team’s victory. Yadav added that “I am disappointed not to be part of the Indian team because I wanted to go and perform and contribute to the team’s win. These things happen, yes you are sad, but at the same time you are ready to perform in the next opportunity.”
On the other hand, Kuldeep was positive that he would get selected for the Sri Lanka series as India will be touring the island nation to play the limited-overs format of the game.
Speaking to the private TV channel, Kuldeep said “I didn’t go there, so hopefully I will go to Sri Lanka and get the chance to perform there. Cricket should continue happening, every player is sad when he is not in the team, everyone wants to remain in the team but sometimes the situation is such that you are not part of the team.”
The 26-year old left-arm spinner has played 8 Test games for India and has picked 26 wickets at a bowling average of 23.84.
