India squad for Sri Lanka series: Shikhar Dhawan to lead 20-member contingent

Devdutt Padikkal, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Krishnappa Gowtham, Chetan Sakariya, Varun Chakravarthy, and Nitish Rana have all been named to the team.

The BCCI’s senior selection committee named a 20-man limited-overs team for the July tour of Sri Lanka on Thursday. In the absence of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan will lead the squad.

India Squad: Shikhar Dhawan (c), Prithvi Shaw, Devdutt Padikkal, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Suryakumar Yadav, Manish Pandey, Hardik Pandya, Nitish Rana, Ishan Kishan (wk), Sanju Samson (wk), Yuzvendra Chahal, Rahul Chahar, K Gowtham, Krunal Pandya, Kuldeep Yadav, varun Chkvarhy, Bhuvneshwar Kumar (vc), Deepak Chahar, Navdeep Saini, Chetan Sakariya.

The Men in Blue will face the hosts in three One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and three Twenty-Twenty-Overs (T20Is) at the R Premadasa International Stadium in Colombo. The one-day internationals (ODIs) will be played on July 13, 16, and 18, while the Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) will be played on July 21, 23, and 25.

Devdutt Padikkal, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Krishnappa Gowtham, Chetan Sakariya, Varun Chakravarthy, and Nitish Rana have all been named to the team. Ishan Porel, Sandeep Warrier, Arshdeep Singh, Sai Kishore, and Simranjeet Singh have all been added as net bowlers.

On the other side, India’s red-ball contingent is now in England, practicing for the ICC World Test Championship final against New Zealand, which will be contested from June 18-22 at the Rose Bowl Stadium in Southampton. Following the summit clash, the squad will return to play five Tests against England.
