Team India’s 20-man squad have on Monday left for the tour of Sri Lanka for limited-over series.

Team India’s 20-man squad have on Monday left for the tour of Sri Lanka for limited-over series, consist of three ODIs and as many T20Is in the island country. This 20-man squad will be led by new captain Shikhar Dhawan and as the head coach, the legendary Rahul Dravid has been assigned duty for this young Indian team.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) posted a photo on their official Twitter handle in which the entire 20-man squad posed for a final group photo before boarding the flight to the island nation.

This exciting squad of team India has a great mixture of youth and experience. With several cricketers of the main team preparing for the England series, this tour will give a lot of opportunities to the youngsters in the squad.

The three T20Is against Sri Lanka will be India’s final project in the shortest format before the biggest event of the T20 World Cup to be held in the UAE in October. With several spots left for the world cup Indian team, the youngsters, as well as the experienced players in the 20-man squad, will be looking forward to grabbing the opportunity.

Rahul Dravid, India’s head coach for the Sri Lanka tour, on Sunday, said as quoted by The Times of India “he hopes the white-ball squad is able to give good performances so that they are able to knock the doors of selectors for a callup for the T20 World Cup which is set to be played later this year.”
