Indian batsman Abhinav Mukund’s grandfather, Mr. TK Subbarao, passed away due to COVID-19

Indian Test team opener Abhinav Mukund took to Twitter to inform about the death of his grandfather.

On Thursday, May 20, Indian Test team opener Abhinav Mukund took to Twitter to inform about the death of his grandfather. His grandfather Mr. TK Subbarao was infected with coronavirus and today he died due to COVID-19 at the age of 95.

He wrote on his Twitter handle, “With great sadness, I would like to inform you all that I have lost my grandfather, Mr. TK Subbarao, to COVID-19. He was 95. A man is known for his discipline and his exemplary routines, was otherwise hale and healthy till the virus took him away. Om Shanti!”

The  31-year-old left-handed batsman made his international debut in a Test match in 2011 against the West Indies. He has played seven Test matches for India. Mukund has scored 320 runs in these matches at an average of 22.85 including two half-centuries. Mukund last played a Test match for India in 2017 against Sri Lanka. Although he had appeared in the international matches four years back, he has been a consistent performer in domestic cricket.
