Du Plessis and Gaikwad took CSK to the top of the table with another 100+ run stand and with that the debate has started as are they the best opening pair in this year’s IPL.
Faf Du Plessis and Ruturaj Gaikwad went ahead and scored 129 for the first wicket to chase down the total of 172 for CSK comfortably with seven wickets and nine balls to spare, with this amazing start CSK now has two 100+ stand in the past three games and haven’t lost a single wicket in previous three powerplays.
This level of consistency by Gaikwad and Du Plessis is coming at a healthy strike rate as CSK has managed to score 50+ runs in all three games. This has certainly been the best opening pair in the tournament as others team have found it hard to score and keep wickets during the powerplay CSK have almost turned the match in their favor in the first six overs.
