On Thursday Jasprit Bumrah once again produced a crucial match-winning performance for his franchise Mumbai Indians as their side beats Rajasthan Royals by seven wickets in the 24th match of the IPL.
Winning the toss MI put RR to bat first. The Royals made a good start to the innings as both the openers Butler and Jaiswal put up a 66 run partnership in 7 overs before Butler went back to the pavilion. After that captain, Sanju Samson played a quick knock of 42 of 27 balls.
MI restricted RR to an under-par score of 171 for 4 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi with Jasprit Bumrah cracking one wicket giving away just 15 runs in his bowling spell. The Indian seamer has taken 5 wickets in 6 games so far but has been super economical for the team. In six matches he has bowled with an economy of 5.91, which is proved to the best in this season so far.
The former Australian pacer Brett Lee said “the MI pacer has the ability to strike at will for his team and labelled him a ‘breakthrough’ application.”
“He has all the class and firepower in his armoury. He has got a different action that makes it difficult for the batsmen. And the control over the length and lines is brilliant. The length around the yorker area is a very high percentage. Not many bowlers can pull that off what Bumrah does.” Lee Concluded.
