IPL 2021: Chennai Super Kings back on the top of the points table after win against SRH

Suresh Raina sealed the win for Chennai with a boundary through covers. An excellent run chase from Chennai as there was not a single moment in the second half of the match where Chennai lost their grip in their game.

The Chennai Super Kings’ remarkable form in the Indian Premier League season continues as the men in yellow easily defeated the Sunrisers Hyderabad by 7 wickets, chasing the 172-run target in just 18.3 overs.

Ruturaj Gaikwad and Faf du Plessis were on fire as they  scored 75 in 44 and 56 in 38 respectively. Meanwhile Lungi Ngidi took 2 wickets to help CSK grasp the victory.

Sunrisers Hyderabad posted 171 for 3 in 20 overs against Chennai Super Kings, riding on contrasting half-centuries from Manish Pandey and skipper David Warner, as well as a cameo from Kane Williamson.

Pandey top-scored with a 46-ball 61 while Warner scored 57 off 55 deliveries after struggling against the CSK bowlers. Williamson then smashed 26 off 10 runs.

This was CSK’s 5th consecutive victory, they are currently tied on points with RCB but have a higher net run rate. This season will go down to the wire as the competition on the top of the table heats up.
