The former Kiwi captain and KKR’s head coach Brendon McCullum looks very disappointed with the team’s performance. He blasted after another poor result on Thursday against Delhi Capitals, he precisely blamed his team’s batters for not performing up to the mark.
“It’s incredibly disappointing because I’ve asked time and time again for us to be more aggressive and more expressive and take the game on, and we continue to not do it. So, we’re going to have to make some changes for sure”, McCullum said.
KKR has lost five out of their seven matches and repeatedly this year the batters, in particular, has let KKR down again, with the lights of Shubhman Gill. Every KKR fan and management had expected him to perform well after a good Australian tour. But he didn’t stand out to the expectations. In seven matches he has scored only 132 runs at a strike rate of 117.85 with an appalling average of 18.85.
KKR skipper Eoin Morgan has also disappointed the management and has not lived up to the expectations. He has disturbing figures of just 92 runs in seven matches. Andre Russell the power hitter of the KKR has been silent this season after a five wicket haul against Mumbai Indians and just a single good knock against CSK.
We are likely to see some big changes in the team as per the saying of the head coach McCullum. Who will make it in the team will be intriguing to see who replaces who in the KKR squad.
