IPL 2021: List of Purple and Orange Cap holder from season 1 to the 13th season of IPL

The IPL tournament honours players with several awards at the end of each season. Orange Cap is presented to the leading run scorer in the league and Purple Cap is presented to the leading wicket-taker. It is time now to look back at the all the champions, Orange Cap and Purple Cap winners right back from 2008.
List of players who grabbed Orange and Purple Cap :
In year 2008,Shaun Marsh of Kings XI Punjab achieved the Orange Cap by scoring 616 runs and the Purple Cap winner was Sohail Tanvir of Rajasthan Royals with 22 wickets. Also the Man of the tournament was awarded to Shane Watson.
Mathew Hayden of Chennai Super Kings scored 572 runs and succeeded in achieving the Orange Cap in 2009. With 23 wickets, the purple cap adorned the head of Deccan Chargers RP Singh. And the Man of the tournament was awarded to Adam Gilchrist.
In 2010, Orange cap adorned on the head of Sachin Tendulkar of Mumbai Indians. Tendulkar had scored 618 runs in the third season of IPL. And Deccan’s Pragyan Ojha was the winner of the Purple Cap with 21 wickets. Man of the tournament was awarded to Sachin Tendulkar.
In 2011, Chris Gayle of Royal Challengers Bangalore scored an Orange cap scoring 608 runs. Lasith Malinga manage to take Purple cap, he took total of 28 wickets. And the Man of the tournament award went to Chris Gayle.
Chris Gayle set a record for the highest score of 733 runs in a single season of IPL and earn Orange cap and Morne Morkel of Delhi Capitals took the Purple Cap with 25 wickets. Also the Man of the tournament was awarded to Sunil Narine in the year 2012.
In 2013, Mike Hussey, who scored 733 runs, entitled Orange Cap. However, he missed breaking Gayle’s record. And the Champion Dwayne Bravo of CSK with 32 wickets adorned the Purple Cap. And Shane Watson won the Man of the tournament.
In year 2014, Robin Uthappa of Kolkata Knight Riders scored an Orange cap after scoring 660 runs. Purple Cap was given to Mohit Sharma, who took 23 wickets. This year the Man of the tournament was awarded to Glenn Maxwell.
Sunrisers Hyderabad’s David Warner was given the Orange Cap for 562 runs. And Dwayne Bravo took the Purple Cap with 26 wickets. And Andre Russell was awarded with the Man of the tournament title in the 2015.
In year 2016,Virat Kohli, the captain of the Royal Challengers Bangalore, scored the Orange Cap, breaking all previous records. Kohli had scored 973 runs in the 2016 season. With 23 wickets the purple cap was given to Bhuvneshwar Kumar of Sunrisers Hyderabad. Man of the tournament was awarded to none other than Virat Kohli.
In 2017, David Warner managed to get the Orange Cap by scoring 641 runs, while Bhuvneshwar Kumar again won the Purple Cap with 26 wickets. And the Man of the Tournament title was awarded to Ben Stocks.
Kane Williamson of Sunrisers Hyderabad was the winner of the Orange Cap with 735 runs, while Andrew Tye’s head purple cap adorned with 24 wickets. And Sunil Narine was awarded Man of the tournament in the year 2018.
In year 2019, David Warner achieved the Orange Cap by scoring 692 runs while Imran Tahir with 26 wickets became entitled to the Purple Cap. And the Man of the tournament was awarded to Andre Russell.
