IPL 2021: Several players of Kolkata Knight Riders are reported ill

The IPL is being held in Ahmedabad at a time when the city and state of Gujarat are being devastated by the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic. The match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League 2021 has been rescheduled after two KKR players, Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrier, tested positive for COVID-19

If sources are to be believed, several other KKR players are feeling unwell and are being tested. All of them are isolating in individual rooms. The results for tests on other players will come out soon. According to sources, it can have a lasting impact on KKR, maybe even IPL as a whole.

KKR are now likely to move to a resort and shrink their bio-bubble in order to avoid any further spread of COVID-19 amongst the team and staff.

Just days before, three Australian players had withdrawn from the league, citing COVID-19 concerns in the midst of a devastating second wave of the global pandemic that has overwhelmed the country’s medical infrastructure. Let’s hope everyone takes proper precautions and KKR team is back on field soon enough.
