The former Indian opening batsman Virender Sehwag has compared Kolkata Knight Rider’s batting with a ‘boring movie’. Sehwag has expressed his concern over KKR’s batting department and criticized the KKR team management still no changes in order or their playing composition, amid repeated errors by openers Shubman Gill, Nitish Rana and skipper Eoin Morgan.
Sehwag said on Cricbuzz “I am not happy with Kolkata Knight Riders’ batting order because Nitish Rana is still opening. They are not getting the starts they need to get. Shubman Gill is not in the best of forms, he scored 40 against Delhi Capitals, but he used a lot of balls.
He also said, “But even if that is fine if Gill is batting along with someone who can keep increasing the team’s run rate, then it would be better for KKR.”
Sehwag went on and said “It is not digestible that they are not changing batting order. When I watch a movie on my laptop, mobile on any OTT platform, I skip forward a boring scene. In this T20 tournament, when Kolkata Knight Riders are playing, it will get boring for me, so I have to watch it while fast forwarding it because they have made things boring for everyone.”
He also added “The openers had just two 50-plus starts for the openers, but the team has so far been ineffective. That is reason they have managed to win just two games out of seven T20s so far.”
