It’s possible that two India squads playing simultaneously in different locations will become the norm: Virat Kohli and Ravi Shastri

Indian team captain Virat Kohli hinted that two different Indian squads travelling and playing at two different locations could become the norm in the mentally draining world of bio-secure bubbles that players are forced to live in amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Virat Kohli’s squad leaves for England tour to play the World Test Championship final against New Zealand and five-Test match series against host England while the second squad will leave to play a limited over series against Sri Lanka in July.

Living in bio-secure bubbles is tough for players that affect mentally and players need a break to recover from that. Also, the players have to manage their workload so they can be fit and save themselves from injury.

Virat Kohli said in the pre-departure press conference that “With the current structure and the kind of structure that you’re competing inside for a long period, it’s very difficult for the players to stay motivated and find the right kind of mental space”.

Head coach Ravi Shastri said that the quarantine is making the Player’s job tough and it’s difficult to play in these conditions.
He said “You are not just talking about the World Championship. But if you want to add that as well, you have to play five Test matches in six weeks that too in this environment, It’s no joke.
Even the fittest players will need a break to relax. The players should be fit physically as well as mentally.

The Indian squad will be quarantined in England before starting practising for the World Test Championship final.
