James Gunn teases two new DCU projects heading into production after Superman Legacy

The DC Universe is about to get two amazing projects. Comic book fans, grab your capes because James Gunn, the filmmaker behind blockbusters such as Guardians of the Galaxy and Peacemaker, has recently revealed that two big films are in the process of going into production this year. As per the creators, shooting on the next Superman: Legacy will begin in March, with further projects slated to begin production in 2024.

“One year ago today Peter Safran & I introduced our DC slate for the 1st time – thanks to all of you for the support you’ve given us throughout the year,” Gunn shared in a post on Instagram recently. He added, “Today, Superman Legacy is about to start production, episodes of Creature Commandos are being finished that will be released later this year, at least 2 more projects are gearing up to go in the next couple months, amazing scripts keep coming in, & incredible talent are being attached to new projects, planned & unplanned. Thank you!!”

At this point, it appears like one of the projects Gunn is talking about is Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. Gunn and DC Studios revealed this week that House of the Dragon actress Milly Alcock has been cast as Kara Zor-El/Supergirl.
