Jasmine Sandlas opens up on difficult childhood and alcohol struggle amid Dhurandhar success

Singer Jasmine Sandlas is currently enjoying the success of her songs in Dhurandhar: The Revenge, but the artist has now spoken candidly about the personal battles behind her journey. In a recent conversation on Ranveer Allahbadia’s podcast, she reflected on her early life, career and the emotional challenges she has carried over the years.

The singer, who lent her voice to multiple tracks composed by Shashwat Sachdev, revealed that her rise in the industry came alongside unresolved struggles. Despite gaining recognition, she shared that certain emotional wounds from childhood continued to affect her deeply.

Speaking about that phase, Sandlas admitted she went through a period of alcoholism, describing it as a time when several aspects of her life felt overwhelming. She pointed to personal loss, shifting family dynamics and the pressures of success as contributing factors. While she now regrets drinking excessively during those years, she acknowledged it was part of her process of coping at the time.

She also spoke about lingering resentment from her upbringing, explaining how emotional distance and lack of support shaped her experiences. According to her, the absence of a “safe space” led her to constantly search for a sense of belonging.

Born in Jalandhar and raised in California, Sandlas began her career in 2008 and rose to fame with “Yaar Na Miley” from the Kick soundtrack. Her recent work in the Dhurandhar The Revenge franchise, starring Ranveer Singh and directed by Aditya Dhar, has further cemented her popularity.
