Joel Kinnaman reaction on Suicide Squad “Didn’t end up being what we all hoped it was”

In a current interview, ahead of the sequel’s release, actor Joel Kinnaman reacted to the criticism surrounding the original film.

The trailer of James Gunn’s second part of ‘The Suicide Squad’ has created a lot of talk about the films starkly different expressions related to the first installment. Suicide Squad which released in 2016 directed by David Ayer and James Gunn, the film created immense fuss and gained a lot of criticism. In a recent interview, ahead of the sequel’s release, actor Joel Kinnaman spoke to Various and reacted to the criticism surrounding the original film.

Confessing that the first part of the film had “conflicting visions”, Kinnaman indicated what he thought didn’t work for the film. Adding that the initial 40 minutes of the movie were “f*****g great”, he said, “it just didn’t end up being what we all hoped it was. It didn’t feel like the movie that we aspired we were going to make, and this is something very different.”
Now, DC Films are all set to release the sequel of ‘The Suicide Squad’, directed by James Gunn, who has formerly guided the successful Guardians of the Galaxy movies for MCU. After Ayer’s exit, the script of Suicide Squad 2 was altered to make the upcoming film. So, the new film is not Suicide Squad 2. It is not a sequel to the previous film.
The R-rated upcoming movie sees Gunn, known for Marvel’s ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ movies, dig deep into the planet of DC for the first time. The trailer has all the factors to make it a tremendous box office hit, promising performances by all the actors, captivating dialogues, drama, and epic percentages of action.
