Joker 2 cast salary: Here’s how much Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga are charging for the film

The film Joker: Folie à Deux is expected to be released in October. The sequel to 2019’s Joker will not only reunite Joaquin Phoenix as the famous Arthur Fleck aka Joker, but will also feature Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn.

Following the huge success of Joker, new reports have indicated that the production house has allotted a budget that is more than three times the amount spent on the first Joker movie.

Here’s how much the stars are paid for the film.

For his role in the first film, Joaquin Phoenix won an Academy Award for Best Actor and was paid $4.5 million. The actor is now getting a whopping $20 million for Joker: Folie à Deux. Lady Gaga, an Oscar-nominated actress, will be paid $12 million for playing Joker’s love interest Harley Quinn.

It is not just the salaries of the stars that have increased. Joker: Folie à Deux has a startling $200 million budget from Warner Bros. This marks a significant increase above the $60 million budget for the first Joker film. The 2019 film grossed $1 billion globally, becoming the first R-rated movie to do so. It remains to be seen if its 2024 successor meets expectations.
