Actor Kangana Ranaut took to her Instagram story to reveal that she hasn’t been able to pay half of last year’s income tax because she had no work, no projects and no upcoming movies.

In the past, she had said that she is one of the “highest tax-paying actress” and to support her statement she uploaded a screenshot of the report. She is said to have come under the 45 per cent tax slab following her income but last year due to the pandemic stricken year and controversies that were making the rounds, she was offered no work.

Taking to her Instagram story, she said that the government has charged her interest on half of last years tax that she is left to pay, but she also says that it’s a welcome move and time has been tough on everyone last year but together everyone can be stronger than time.

The Manikarnika actress was recently spotted visiting her BMC demolished office building in Mumbai. In a video, a paparazzi asked her to pose for the camera to which she replied “Aap mujhe bhi tho mera kaam karne dijiye” (let me also do my work)

Contrary to the last year, this year Kangana has movies and projects lined up, one of which was set for its theatrical release but has been delayed due to the rising number of cases in India. She is playing the role of Jayalalitha in the upcoming film “Thalaivi”
