Filmmaker Karan Johar has finally watched Dhurandhar: The Revenge and shared an enthusiastic response, putting an end to what he earlier described as his “Dhurandhar FOMO.” Taking to Instagram, Johar posted a detailed note appreciating the film, which has been performing strongly at the box office.
In his reaction, Johar highlighted that the film goes beyond themes of masculinity and patriotism, describing it instead as an emotional story filled with sacrifice and human depth. He praised the narrative for presenting layered characters, including its antagonist, and credited director Aditya Dhar for bringing a strong cinematic vision to life. According to him, the film reflects both technical excellence and impactful storytelling.
Johar reserved special praise for Ranveer Singh, calling the performance the best of his career so far. He noted that the actor’s emotional scenes, expressions, and screen presence stood out, reinforcing his position among the leading performers in the industry.
Reflecting on his experience, Johar said the film reminded him of the era of classic Hindi cinema and the kind of storytelling that first inspired him to join the film industry. He added that watching the film left him feeling proud to be part of the fraternity.
Earlier, Johar had mentioned that he had not been able to watch the film due to work commitments in a remote location. Now, after finally seeing it, his response adds to the growing appreciation surrounding the film.
