In this summer’s transfer window, Kylian Mbappe’s future is still unclear because of the signing battle between Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid. As a result, it is unknown where he will play football in the upcoming campaign.
Mbappe’s contract with Paris expires at the end of the 2023/24 season, however, PSG gave their French superstar a deadline to accept an extension option built into that contract, thinking he would go on a free transfer. Mbappe, on the other hand, has grown increasingly disillusioned with life at the Parc des Princes and is actively seeking ways to get out of the club. As a result, PSG has been forced to punish Mbappe in order to force him to act on his contract.
In any case, because Mbappe refused to sign for the added year, he has been banished from the PSG first team and been consigned to training with the B-team while the French club tours Asia as part of their preseason preparations. According to the Guardian, he will be kept outside of the main team under Luis Enrique and would only be allowed to train with the ‘loft’ group.
Mbappe is part of a squad that includes out-of-favour players Julian Draxler and Leandro Paredes, both of whom spent the previous season on loan. According to Sky Sports, Mbappe allegedly told players on this ‘bomb squad’ that they are capable of defeating the first team if put against them, indicating the level of skill that PSG have ostracized from their main setup.
