In the Kinnar Akhada, actor Mamta Kulkarni will shortly be a Mahamandleshwar. Prior to the initiation on Friday, she gave a pind daan at Prayagraj during the Maha Kumbh. The news was announced to the media by Kinnar Akhada’s Acharya Mahamandleshwar, Laxmi Narayan.
Laxmi disclosed to ANI that: “Kinnar Akhada is going to make Mamta Kulkarni (former Bollywood actress) a Mahamandleshwar. She is now named Shri Yamai Mamta Nandgiri. As I am talking here, all the rituals are underway.”
“She has been in touch with Kinnar Akhada and me for the last one and a half years. She is allowed to perform the character of any devotional figure if she wants, as we do not prohibit anyone from performing their art.”
Mamta performed a pind daan at Sanga. When she spoke to the same news outlet about returning to India after her romance with Vicky Goswami, she hinted at this. She answered, “Yes, I connected with Vicky Goswami in 1996 my spiritual journey started, and a guru came into my life during that time. Vicky invited me to meet him in Dubai while he was in jail, and I accepted.”
“I spent 12 years becoming religious, and when he was released from jail in 2012, all of my aspirations had been fulfilled, including falling in love and marrying. I have not returned to Bollywood and have no plans to return as an actress.”
Mamta and Vicky were the subject of a non-bailable warrant issued by Thane Police in 2017 for a drug haul case, but the actor told the news agency that she last spoke to Vicky in 2016. She was popular in the 1990s for her roles in films like Karan Arjun and Baazi, and she collaborated with Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, and Shah Rukh Khan.
However, she left the spotlight in the early 2000s and moved overseas; her last Hindi film was Kabhie Tum Kabhie Hum (2002).
