A man was arrested after reportedly lurking around singer Taylor Swift’s New York City home and trying to break in. Details are still being covered however, police reports indicate that the suspect had been seen loitering near the house for a few weeks before trying to get inside. Fortunately, Swift was not present at the time of the incident.
Officers were alerted to a “disorderly person” on Franklin Street, said a New York Police Department official, as reported by Page Six. The police were informed of the matter by the neighbours and onlookers who had been keeping a close eye on the man for some time. “Upon arrival, [police] were informed that the individual attempted to open a door to a building at the location,” as per public information officer.
David (not the document name) tried to break into Swift’s home and another source confirmed seeing the suspect in the process of trying to get access to her place. The source and neighbours alerted the police that they had seen this individual hiding around the area for several weeks. They informed the authorities that the guy had been “sleeping on the stoop, chain-smoking continuously, shouting, and generally causing discomfort to everyone.”
One eyewitness stated, “I first saw him around 1 p.m. He went up to Taylor’s door,” adding, “I’m not sure if he knocked or rang the doorbell.” Another said, “When he arrived before Christmas, my husband asked what he was doing here and he said, ‘I want to see Taylor,’” and even “had flowers at one point.”
