Meghan Markle surprised attendees at the 2025 Invictus Games in Canada with an impromptu and heartfelt tribute to her husband, Prince Harry. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex arrived in Vancouver for a welcome reception honoring the athletes, their families, and friends.
In a video shared by an attendee on X (formerly Twitter), the Suits alum took the stage, admitting she hadn’t planned to speak but felt compelled to share her excitement. She warmly greeted the audience before introducing “someone who means a lot” to her—Prince Harry.
With a playful tone, Markle joked that Harry would be “curling” with the athletes and serving as the biggest cheerleader during the wheelchair basketball matches. While she admitted she’s “not much of an athlete,” she expressed enthusiasm for the week ahead.
Markle then shared a personal glimpse into their family life, highlighting Harry’s hands-on role in their children’s morning routine. She recounted how their son, Archie, often questions Harry about being on his phone, only for him to reply: “Because it’s Invictus, I’m getting ready for Invictus.”
Emphasizing how deeply the Games mean to Harry, she described the athletes as a second family to him. Wrapping up her speech, she reassured the audience that the upcoming week would be “spectacular,” as Harry had poured his heart into making it a success.
The 2025 Invictus Games, a sporting event for wounded, injured, and sick servicemen and women, runs from February 8 to 16.
