Mental health is as important as physical health – Jarmanpreet Singh

 

Jarmanpreet Singh, defender of the Indian hockey side emphasized the importance of the mental health of a person.

The youngster is currently sweating out at the Sports Authority of India(SAI) centre in Bengaluru as part of the preparation ahead of the Tokyo Olympics.

Singh, who’s the defender for the Indian side stated, “I feel mental health is as important as the physical health to deal these current situations. A player needs to be strong, and for that, we have been helping each other”, he said in a release issued by Hockey India.

With regards to his preparation for the Tokyo Olympics, he opined his focus is on giving the best with all the energy he could put. He also said he’s trying to improve more and more when he is sweating out during the training hours.

Singh, who had made his debut for the national side during the year 2018, feels that he’s lucky to get the support of his seniors from the starting days of his career. He said, “They have always supported me since the beginning. They have guided me at each step, and have been motivating me a lot.”

Indian Hockey side was supposed to fly to Great Britain, Spain, and Germany to participate in the FIH Pro League for the away fixtures. But, the ties got postponed as the travel restrictions were imposed due to the high surge of COVID -19 cases.
