Newly launched merger Vodafone Idea might increase it’s tariffs by 15%-20% by December 2020 in order to stay afloat. Bharti Airtel also believes that the current tariff rates are “Unsustainable”. Jio is expected to follow suit by giving discounted prices when compared. VI lost 8 million users in the July-September quarter while Jio and Airtel gained 7 million and 14 million respectively. VI will need 70,000 crore equity to sustain.
