MP Govt planning to propose bill against ‘love jihad’ with 5-year jail term, says Narottam Mishra

On Tuesday, Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra said the state government will propose Dharma Swatantrya (Religious Freedom) bill 2020 against ‘love jihad’ in the next assembly session. The bill will have a provision of five years of imprisonment against marriages taking place forcefully, out of fraud or by tempting someone for religious conversion.He also added that this will be a cognisable and non-bailable offence.
