Mukesh Ambani is back to being the richest Asian as China’s Zhong loses $22 billion

With a net worth of nearly $80 billion, Mukesh Ambani becomes the richest Asian again. After China’s Zhong Shanshan’s bottled water company Nongfu Spring was low by 20% this week, the Chinese billionaire lost more than $22 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.

With Indian markets on a low this week, Reliance Industries Limited still managed to stay on the gains. Reliance also sold its digital and retail units worth $27 billion to Google and Facebook Inc. investors increasing his net worth by $18 billion.

Zhong’s Nongfu Spring Co. tripled over its IPO and his pharmaceutical Beijing Wantai Biological Pharmacy Enterprise Co. surged 3,757%, he seized the title from Mukesh Ambani in early January 2021 becoming the richest in Asia and the sixth richest all over the world.

As Hongkong and Chinese markets were one of the lowest this week both of Zhong’s companies led him to losses.
