Additional Municipal Commissioner Suresh Kakani said that the final decision on timing restrictions of local trains in Mumbai will be taken after February 20. The situation will be reviewed considering the sudden rise in the number of COVID-19 cases.
He said, “Currently we cannot say that cases have increased due to the resumption of local trains. But we have decided to review it again after February 20 and the final decision will be taken at that time.”
The general public was allowed to travel in the local trains from February 1 between specific timings only in three slots that are from the first train to 7 am, 12 pm to 4 pm, and from 9 pm till the last train time.
