As Dhurandhar: The Revenge continues to perform strongly at the box office, the conversation around the film has expanded beyond its commercial success. Amid ongoing online debates labelling the film as “propaganda,” actor Mustafa Ahmed has addressed the criticism and defended director Aditya Dhar.
Speaking in a recent interview, Ahmed dismissed the claims, suggesting that perspectives often differ from person to person. He questioned the basis of such accusations, adding that if there were any specific agenda behind the film, casting decisions would not hold such significance. While acknowledging that people are entitled to their opinions, he maintained that the narrative surrounding the film is being overstated.
The actor, who plays Rizwan, trusted aide to Ranveer Singh’s character, also responded to suggestions that actors compromise their principles for visibility or fame. He asserted that he has stayed honest to his beliefs and has not participated in anything that conflicted with his values. According to him, neither the role nor the environment during filming raised any concerns about wrongdoing.
In the film, Rizwan is introduced as a member of a gang before eventually switching sides and joining Singh’s character in a mission to dismantle a terror network. The role has brought Ahmed wider attention in the industry. Before entering films, Ahmed worked as a celebrity fitness trainer, collaborating with actors like Hrithik Roshan, Yami Gautam and Vicky Kaushal. After a brief debut, his performance in Dhurandhar: The Revenge marks a significant step forward in his acting career.
