New Zealand’s Kane Williamson, Mitchell Santner and Kyle Jamieson to fly for England tour directly from Maldives

SRH and New Zealand Skipper Kane Williamson along with Mitchell Santner and Kyle Jamison to fly out from New Delhi to travel for England directly through the Maldives

The New Zealand trio Kane William, Mitchell Santner and Kyle Jamieson left the mini bio-bubble in New Delhi and have been transferred to the Maldives. The trio for the World Test Championship along with physio Tommy Simsek and trainer Chris Donaldson will fly straight for England via the Maldives.

However, the rest of the IPL based New Zealand players along with Mumbai Indian’s seamer Trent Boult has left for their country in chartered aircraft. The New Zealand Cricket (NZC) has clarified that their entry into the English land could be a week dawdled.

“The decision for this group to transfer to the Maldives was taken after advice that their entry into the UK, initially thought to be about May 11, was likely to be delayed a further week,” said NZC in an official announcement.  

The Kiwis will face the host team (England) in a two-match Test series starting from June 2 before crossing swords with India in the introductory of the WTC finals from June 18 at Southampton.

India announced its 20 player squad led by Virat Kohli for both World Test Championships Final followed by five-match Test series against England. All-rounder, Hardik Pandya couldn’t make it up in the Test squad including seamer Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Kuldeep Yadav.

However, Pacer Mohammad Shami and Hanuman Vihari and Star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja made a comeback recovering from their particular injuries. Unfortunately, KL Rahul who is undergoing acute appendix and Wridhiman Saha who recently tested COVID-19 positive before IPL suspension will make it to the squad with regards to their fitness clearance.
