Neymar tells PSG he wants to leave the club this summer, facilitating FC Barcelona move: Reports

Brazilian superstar Neymar is expected to leave Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) before the transfer market shuts at the end of this month, according to various media outlets, including The Telegraph.

The 31-year-old Brazilian has told PSG of his intention to leave the club. Neymar’s contract with PSG is till 2027, but with Lionel Messi leaving for Inter Miami and Kylian Mbappe about to go, the French club is facing a talent drain. Meanwhile, PSG signed Portugal attacker Goncalo Ramos on a season-long loan from Benfica. The club also has the option to buy him.

“It is a great pride and an immense happiness to join Paris Saint-Germain. PSG is one of the biggest clubs in the world with one of the best squads,” the 22-year-old Ramos said in a statement.

As per The Telegraph, Neymar wants to return to his former club Barcelona, however, the club might be unable to afford him because they have to sell players to balance their books.

ESPN also reported that Neymar is eager to return to Barcelona. As reported by ESPN, there is an ongoing debate among the club’s decision-makers concerning Neymar.  Coach Xavi Hernandes believes the Brazilian star does not fit the bill. However, the final decision can be made by club president Joan Laporta.
