India has produced 15,010 sub-compact SUVs as of the end of May 2021 which include 13,790 for India and 1,220 for exports.

Magnite was released and built on the concept of “Make in India, Make for the World”, and has received a remarkable response from customers from India as well as other countries. Within 30 days of its launch in Nepal, it got over 760 bookings during the first 30 days of its launch in the month of February 2021. This market has monthly passenger vehicle sales of only 1,580 units.

The president of Nissan Motor India, Sinan Ozkok, said “Having already made a mark in the Indian market with its impeccable design and latest technology, the all-new Nissan Magnite is driving excitement amongst customers on a global scale.” In addition to that, he also mentioned that he was confident that this SUV would be a “game-changer” and will help strengthen the export of Nissan cars and help Nissan NEXTs transformation plan for increased sustainable growth.

Earlier this year, Nissan introduced its third shift in its manufacturing process in addition to hiring over 1000 new people spreading across all departments in the manufacturing plant. Nissan has been able to keep up with the increasing demand for it in the Indian automobile market as well as in export markets.
