Facebook is introducing a new feature in the EU and UK aimed at enhancing the way users reminisce and share their favorite moments. This feature, which requires users to opt-in, suggests the best photos and videos from their camera roll. It then creates engaging collages and edits, making it easy to share unique content on the platform.
Creative and Effortless Sharing
Many users capture life’s moments but often do not share them, either because they feel their photos or videos are not “shareworthy” or because they lack the time to create something special. With user permission, this opt-in feature analyzes media in the camera roll to highlight standout moments, which might otherwise get lost among screenshots, receipts, and random snapshots.
The feature then suggests creative edits, collages, and videos to help content stand out. Users may see these recommendations appear in Stories, Feed, and Memories (a Facebook bookmark) to review privately before deciding what to share. Users can manage or disable the feature at any time in their Facebook camera roll settings.
Built With Privacy in Mind
All camera roll suggestions remain private to the user, who retains control over what, when, and with whom they share. Photos and videos from the camera roll are not used for ad targeting, nor are they used to improve AI at Meta unless users publish or share them during interactions with any AI at Meta feature, such as Meta AI. For more details, users can refer to the Meta Privacy Policy.
