Pat Cummins and Deepti Sharma clinch ICC Player of the Month awards

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has named the winners of the Player of the Month award, with Deepti Sharma of India winning in the Women’s category and Australia skipper Pat Cummins winning in the Men’s.

India achieved a remarkable victory in the Test matches against Australia and England thanks to an all-around performance by Deepti. On the other hand, Pat Cummins was at the top of his game during the Test series against Pakistan, earning him the title of Men’s Player of the Month.

Deepti Sharma, India’s dynamic all-rounder, demonstrated her cricket talent in two Test matches in December. She not only scored an astounding 165 runs with the bat, averaging 55, but she also bowled exceptionally well, taking 11 wickets at an average of 10.81.

A famous moment occurred in the Test against England when Deepti’s all-round performance included an important 67 with the bat and an incredible 9-wicket haul. Her impact extended to the One-Day Internationals, when she demonstrated her bowling skill with a five-wicket haul against Australia. Deepti’s remarkable bowling record was maintained throughout the T20 International matches against England, with an excellent economy rate of 5.88 runs per over.

On the other hand, Pat Cummins, the Australian pace spearhead, concluded an outstanding year by winning the ICC Men’s Player of the Month award in December 2023. Cummins was crucial in the Test series against Pakistan, especially the Boxing Day Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Cummins dismissed Pakistan’s Shan Masood in the last innings while defending 317 runs, prompting a collapse that clinched Australia’s win.
