Lord Ganesha is worshipped as the god of fresh starts and obstacle removal on Vinayak Chaturthi, also called Vinayak Chavithi. His wisdom and brilliance are honored by devotees both in India and elsewhere through colorful processions, prayers, music, and decorated homes and pandals.
On the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, devotees flocked to Mumbai’s Shree Siddhivinayak Ganpati Temple earlier in the day to offer prayers. People make delicious food, visit pandals, maintain fasts, and bring Lord Ganesh statues to their houses as part of the celebrations.
Thousands of devotees congregate in temples and mandals to ask Lord Ganesh for blessings during the nationwide celebration. On Sunday, the first glimpse of Mumbai’s well-known Lalbaugcha Raja was revealed. Lalbaugcha Raja, which was created with unparalleled skill, is more than just an idol; it is a representation of Mumbai’s lively spirit, artistic brilliance, and collective faith.
Millions of devotees visit this place annually for darshan. Another celebration highlight is the unveiling of the famous Ganesh idol, the Lalbaugcha Raja. The Lalbaugcha Raja’s history is well-known because of the well-known Ganesh idol of Lalbaugcha Raja Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal, which is situated in Putlabai Chawl, a site of devotion established in 1934.
The Kambli family has been caring for the Lalbaugcha Raja Ganapati statue for more than 80 years. The Maharashtra government proclaimed the public Ganeshotsav during the first part of July to be the “Maharashtra State Festival.”
Cultural Affairs Minister Ashish Shelar made the statement in the Legislative Assembly, stating that Lokmanya Tilak established the public Ganeshotsav tradition in Maharashtra in 1893.
