The prime minister took part in the pran pratishtha ceremony alongside Yogi Adityanath, the CM of Uttar Pradesh, Governor Anandiben Patel, Mohan Bhagwat, the head of the RSS and Mahant Nritya Gopal Das, the chairman of the Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirath Kshetra Trust.
In the most precious 84 seconds of the 48-minute ‘Abhijeet muhurat’ from 12:29:03pm to 12.30:35pm, he symbolically opened the eyes of Lord Ram Lalla’s idol. With this, the weeklong rituals of Ram Lalla’s consecration ceremony, which started on January 16 is completed.
The 51-inch idol, which portrays Ram Lalla as a five-year-old and was carved by Karnataka’s Arun Yogiraj, was chosen above two others because it captured innocence, divinity, and royalty at the finest.
The idol is decorated with jewelry, including many jewellery pieces from head to feet. Its hands hold a golden bow and arrow. The forehead is decorated with silver and red tilak.
After carrying out all of the rituals, PM Modi performed the aarti and took the blessings of the saints present in the temple.
The opening of the Ram Mandir marks a historical chapter in India’s cultural and religious history, capturing the attention of both national and global audiences.
