
Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Meera Majhi, a beneficiary of the Ujjwala Yojana, on December 30 in Ayodhya and later sent her gifts. On Thursday, Majhi expressed her happiness.
She said, “I feel so happy. He (Modi) sent his wishes on New Year along with some gifts for my children.”
Manhi, a riverine community woman who recently became the 10th crore beneficiary of the Ujjwala scheme, stated the PM wrote a letter to her and the entire Manjhi Nagar.

On Saturday, December 30, Modi visited her home while in Ayodhya. He also drank tea at the Majhi house during his visit. The prime minister sent Meera Majhi gifts and a letter on Wednesday.
The gifts included a tea set, a drawing book and other items. Just after the PM’s visit, officials came to her home to give her the Ayushman card, which allows her free treatment of up to 5 lakh rupees.
In his letter, the Prime Minister wished Majhi and her family a happy New Year and recalled having tea with them during his visit. “After coming from Ayodhya, I watched your interviews on various TV channels. I am touched by the humility and confidence shown by you and your family members while sharing the experiences. The happiness of yours and crores of Indians is my wealth. It infuses me with more energy to work for the country,” the prime minister penned in his letter.
He added, “As the 100 millionth beneficiary of the Ujjwala Yojana, you are not just a statistic for me. I view it as an example of the fulfilment of dreams of crores of Indians.”
