Puma responds to Ryan Burl’s request for the sponsorship

Zimbabwe left-handed batsman Ryan Burl took to Twitter to request sponsorships for the national team. Along with this tweet, he posted a photo of his worn-out shoes. The footwear manufacturing giant PUMA noticed and responded to his tweet.

On Saturday, he posted a picture of his worn-out shoes with glue and some tool on his Twitter handle. He wrote, “Any chance we can get a sponsor so we don’t have to glue our shoes back after every series

After few hours of his Tweet, the shoe manufacturer company PUMA responded to his tweet and said no need to worry as they’ll be sponsoring him. PUMA Cricket wrote, “Time to put the glue away, I got you covered @ryanburl3.”

Acknowledging the sponsorship deal, Ryan expressed his gratitude to the Twitter community for extending support. He also thanked PUMA. He tweeted, “I am so proud to announce that I’ll be joining the @pumacricket team. This is all due to the help and support from the fans over the last 24 hours. I couldn’t be more grateful to you all. Thanks so much. @PUMA

Making his international debut in February 2017, Burl has played three Tests, 18 ODIs, and 25 T20Is. By the 1983 World Cup, Zimbabwe was given ODI status and Test status in 1992. In international cricket, Zimbabwe has been struggling for a long time.

In 2019, the Zimbabwe cricket board was suspended by ICC after the government intervened and disallowed the Zimbabwe team from competing in the T20 World Cup. However, Zimbabwe was put back later.

A month ago, the Pakistan team completed a clean sweep of the two-match Test series and won the T20I series 2-1 in Zimbabwe.
