Rajnath Singh, the minister of defence, expressed his “deep anguish” on Friday over the death of a valiant IAF pilot in a fighter jet crash during an aerial demonstration at the Dubai Air Show. He sent the bereaved family his sincere sympathies in a post on X, stating that the country is standing with them during this terrible time.
The pilot of the Indian Air Force’s Tejas fighter plane was killed when it crashed during Friday’s aerial performance at the Dubai Air Show, according to the IAF. A ball of fire consumed the plane as it crashed on the ground and lost altitude, according to footage of the incident that was broadcast on several TV networks.
The observers were astounded by what they saw as smoke billowed from the collision scene. “Deeply anguished at the loss of a brave and courageous IAF pilot during an aerial display in Dubai Air Show. My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family. The nation stands firmly with the family in this tragic hour,” added Singh.
In a brief statement earlier in the day, the IAF expressed its sincere condolences for the pilot’s death in the accident and its solidarity with the grieving family. The IAF posted on its X handle, “A court of inquiry is being constituted, to ascertain the cause of the accident.”
We are awaiting more information about the deceased pilot and the court of inquiry. Every two years, the UAE hosts the Dubai Air Show, which features both static and flying exhibits.
