Ranbir Kapoor recently channelled his inner “Animal” during an awards show. The actor, who has been nominated in the Best Category at various awards shows, including the News18 Showsha Reel Awards 2024, was spotted at an awards ceremony in Gujarat. Ayushmann Khurrana and Karan Johar hosted the event.
In the viral video, Karan looked to be asking Ranbir for assistance. ” “Ranbir hi kar sakta hai, Ranbir hi karega, Ranbir ko hi karna chahiye, Ranbir must help us,” Karan stated, addressing him. An angry Ranbir stopped him off and repeated his Animal dialogue, “Sunayi de raha hai, behra nahi hoon main (I can listen, I am not deaf).” His reply shocked Karan. Although Ranbir appeared angry, it appeared to be part of the trio’s performance during the awards ceremony.
Ranbir portrayed an aggressive son in the film Animal. The film is about a troubled father-son relationship. Ranbir received the award for Best Actor during the ceremony, and during his acceptance speech, he mentioned his father, the late Rishi Kapoor. He said, “I’d like to dedicate this award to is Mr Rishi Kapoor – Papa Meri Jaan. Everyday I think of you, I remember you. And everything I feel for you…the love, the affection I try to channelise it through this part and I hope you are up there in peace and resting.”
Also, he dedicated the award to Raha Kapoor, his daughter, and Animal director Sandeep Vanga Reddy. He continued to disclose that he calls Raha by the nickname ‘naughty.’
