Ravichandran Ashwin amazed by ‘King of Swing’ Wasim Akram’s throwback video

India spin bowler Ravichandran Ashwin was amazed by a video of the legendary Pakistani pacer Wasim Akram in which he is troubling New Zealand’s Chris Harris with his conventional and reverse swing.

Tuesday, May 18: Recently, India spin bowler Ravichandran Ashwin was amazed by a video of the legendary Pakistani pacer C in which he is troubling New Zealand’s Chris Harris with his conventional and reverse swing.

On May 15, Ashwin took to Twitter to share the old video clip of Akram bowling and also tagged Akram. He also praised the Wasim Akram as the ‘king’ of fast bowling.

In the video, Former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram is seen bowling like a bullet against former Kiwi batsman Chris Harris in the One Day International game. He could be seen attacking Kiwi through his reverse swing and conventional bowling.

He wrote,” Hello white ball !! Where are you these days?? That’s the 44th over and reverse swing at its best from the king.

 

In the history of ODI cricket, Wasim Akram was considered as one of the greatest bowlers and also he had the ability to make the ball swing in both ways. He took 502 wickets in 356 matches also scored more than 3,717 runs.

After the Sri Lankan bowler Muttiah Muralitharan, Wasim Akram was the second leading wicket-taker in ODIs. He was also the first bowler to take four hat-tricks in two Tests and two in ODIs cricket format. He was the first bowler to grab the 500-wicket mark in ODIs. He is also the ninth highest wicket-taker with a count of 414 wickets in Test format.
