- launched Reliance Commercial Corporation in 1966 which later became Reliance Industries on 08 May 1973
- launched the brand ‘Only Vimal’ which sold polyester materials for saris, shawls, suits & dresses
- Jan 2016 awarded the Padma Vibhushan India’s second-highest civilian award
