
India got defeated by South Africa even though Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan scored half centuries. India was aiming to score 138 runs but its innings ended at at 265 for eight.
South Africa had opted to bat first. India relied too much on its past performances. Kohli was playing first time after his captaincy tenure ended and scored half a century.
Expectations were high from players like Shreyas Iyer, Venkatesh Iyer and Rishabh Pant but they couldn’t perform any better and left India at 188 for six.
The last over bowled by Thakur went for 17 runs, Venkatesh was not used as the sixth bowling option.
